Student 1: "Ms. F. will we have homework this weekend?"
Me: "Yes, a little bit."
Student 1: "Nooooooo!!!!!"
Student 2: "Good! Because I want to get a scholarship and be smart!"
Me: "That's good, I am glad to hear that!"
Student 3: "I want to be a teacher when I grow up."
Student 4: "I want to be in the swat team!"
Student 5: "I want to work in the ice cream truck!"

Duck Less

Student 1: "Ms. F. what are you doing this weekend?"
Me: "I am going to Douglas."
Student 1: "So there are no ducks there?"
Me: "No, not DUCK LESS, Douglas."
Student 1: "OOOOHHHH......"

Making Lunch

Student 1: "I woke up early today."
Me "I did too."
Student 1: "Why did you wake up early?"
Me: "I had to make my lunch."
Student 1: "I'm lucky! My mom makes my lunch!"
Me: "Well that's because you're 9 and I'm 24!"
*we both laugh*

Bee Busters

The kids know that I am scared of bees (childhood fear, don't judge me! Haha) .... so this is the song a student made up.

Homesick Poem

I was talking to my kids about how I was feeling a little homesick and missing my family. So one of my sweet boys wrote me a poem and told me that everything would be okay, lol. (Please excuse his spelling, haha)

Cold vs. Sweat

Me: "Brrrrr, it is so cold out here!"
Student 1: "Why are you so cold?"
Me: "Because I am a cold person, I get cold really easily."
Student 1: "Oh, that's opposite of my mom. She's a sweaty person!"

Smacking Owls

Student 1: "Have you ever seen an owl?"
Me: "Yes actually, I hit one with my car once on accident."
Student 1: "YOU HIT AN OWL?!"
Me: "Uh, yes? I said it was an accident! What else was I supposed to to? It flew into my windshield while I was driving!"
Student 1: "You could have smacked it!"

Hibernation

Student 1: "Ms. Ferenchak, I am sorry. I won't be coming to school anymore because I am going to hibernate."

Me: "Today is Groundhog's Day. Does anyone know what that means?"
Student 1: "I think it's when you celebrate and give thanks to all your grandparents!"
